A very big thank you to Satoru@hre who helped over the last 2 weeks. Unfortunately it took a little longer then I liked and the outcome is over and above what I was expecting. I won't go into detail but im happy to say so far it's all good.

New wheel is getting shipped tomorrow. A big thank you to Satoru from HRE. Although it took some time, I am more then happy with the out come as it was above and beyond what I was expecting.

Good to hear the issue was resolved. Looks like they handled the situation well. It may have taken a long time but there are some companies I know of that won't even take a minute to help you after a cracked wheel. Ask me how I know... lol

Ok... I'm asking. Who didn't help you?

    This was resolved.

HRE took care of him from my understanding and HRE also had some internal changes.

    It's all good now.

Not sure why I closed this but I've been hearing from more people about HRE communication issues.

More quality issues too? Why were they trying to communicate with HRE?
Is HRE one of those brands that have cheaped out in manufacturing and are resting on their laurels?

Sh*t, I'm thinking about getting HRE R101LW. Should I wait for something else? Any other lightweight wheels?

I was thinking of going HRE too but I changed my mind. Their pricing is getting way too high for what you get ($2800 a wheel now? Seriously?) and they are played out.

I was thinking BC Forged or Forgeline.

Well, I’ve recently got my car back on the road (about 4 months ago), otherwise my car has been off the road for 3 years. And what do you know, the other rear HRE wheel has the same/ similar crack as to the previous wheel. I’ve still got the other cracked wheel too.

In my opinion, these forged monoblock wheels have a structural issue. If you run any negative camber on the rear (which the w204 does) the stress on the wheels causes them to crack.

Ps this is no attack on HRE wheels, I also have another set of HRE wheels which I rotate on the car and genuinely like there wheels and design, how ever I believe there may be a flaw with the forged monoblock wheels.

I know you aren't trying to hate and have pretty much moved past this but that is absolutely terrible. Your set should be replaced.

My HRE C90's are hanging in well but for the quote I got from HRE to refinish I went to someone else and got them done for less than half the price.

HRE is a business so I get it but I'm done padding their margins.

Great marketing and great looking wheels but this company just got too bloated for the enthusiast.

I knew a guy here several years ago before this original post who ran HRE monoblocks on his F36 time attack car. He swore off them for structural weakness and poor service. I cannot remember which brand to which he returned.

Interesting. My front rims are perfectly fine, it’s only happening on the rear. I’l post pics in the next week or so.
