    • Corvette C8.R mid-engine race car testing at Road America

Corvette Racing is very successful and the current C7.R is a monster in professional racing. In 2015 it won the Rolex 24 Hours as well as the 12 Hours of Sebring. In 2016 they got another class win at the Rolex 24 and won the 2016 GTLM class. They also won the 2017 GTLM class.

All good things must come to an end and the C7.R's replacement is on the way. This is it testing at Road America and obviously the biggest change is the move from the engine being in the front to in the middle.

Corvette Racing will not be playing second fiddle to anyone. Despite the Corvette having a cheaper price of entry they will go after Ferrari and Ford with their GT at Le Mans.

This bodes well for the street car as Chevrolet is targeting a very high performance threshold.

I still remember the days when individuals would argue..."no way this is a mid-engine vette, it will 100% be branded a cadillac".

Nice, I'll take mine in Red or Yellow please.

First year of any new model is always the 'roughest'. First year bugs and all.
I will wait for the 2nd or 3rd year when they add electric/hybrid in the front for AWD feature. You know this will happen.

        Well duuuuh.

The Supra is going to be mass-consumer focused total garbage, appealing only to the wannabe Fast n Furious crowd. Itís been the most over hyped car reveal of all time, and I predict it will probably be the most disappointing as well.

This thing on the other hand. Well that looks and sounds like all business so far. Love it.

So C8.R sounds absolutely nothing like the C7.R. Big things are coming for Vette.

It looks very NSX-ish to me. Not sure how I feel about that.

It's going to be much bigger and more muscular. The general NSX frame will always follow a low mid-engine to the ground car.
